Fall Vibes

Happy Fall Y’all! If you haven’t noticed, I really like this time of the year. I love the smell (and taste) of pumpkin spice, wearing all of the plaid and cozy things, and cuddling up with tea to watch feel good movies! If you have been here a while, you know my husband and I were supposed to move to California earlier this year, but due to Covid and a few other things, we ended up staying in Texas with family. Definitely been a blessing in disguise as we have not only gotten to spend so much more time with our family and friends, but that means we will get to spend our favorite time of the year with our loved ones, too!

My family has always done the holiday season big- Christmas especially (It is my FAVORITE holiday!), so getting to be at home will be the best way to end this hot mess of a year! And since Danny’s family is also in the area, it makes this time of year all the more special since we get to share the holidays with both families! Of course, since we do not have a place of our own right now, getting to enjoy the holidays by decorating or own space has been a bit of a challenge lol. So early on, I told my mom I was going to make myself the head of the party planning/decorating committee this year, and that I was going to decorate her house for fall! After an afternoon spent in the attic and garage, and a few Hobby Lobby trips later, we finished decorating! While it might not be as big and festive as others, it is perfect for us! Check out how everything turned out below!

*I will link what I can to retailer websites! Right now Hobby Lobby and Michaels are both doing 40% off their fall decor so if you haven’t bought any fall decorations yet, now is the time!

To start, we wanted to add a little something to the entry way table!

We didn’t want to do too much in this area so we added this cute little milk can, with short stemmed floral accents for a fun farmhouse touch! To add a bit of sparkle, we choose these two super cute pumpkins from Hobby Lobby to complete the look!

*Fun fact, the photo on the left is of me and my two cousins, right before Danny proposed to me back in 2017!

The next area we wanted to add a little somethin’, somethin’ to was

the mantle.

We chose to frame the ‘Family’ sign with two bundles of

fall florals, and added

some smaller pumpkins for a more layered

look.

We also found this super cute sign in the shape of a house

that says ‘let’s

stay home and cuddle’! The taller floral element on

the right we got from At Home a while back, so it is a bit older, but definitely looked great next to our other pieces!

We wanted to keep the coffee table simple, especially with multiple dogs running around the house! This cute, neutral colored pumpkin looked beautiful on mom’s wooden tray ( the tray is a Pier 1 Imports find from several years back)! We used one of her decorative tin pitchers and added some fall colored eucalyptus stems for a pop of color! To finish it off we added my favorite fall candle from Target! Burning candles during this time of the year is one of my favorite ways to make the house smell festive and fun! This Bourbon Pumpkin candle smells like a dream!

Mom’s entertainment center, though big, is already heavily decorated so we wanted to go with a simple sign that not only fit her decor style, but also captured the message of the fall/holiday season! This ‘Be Thankful’ sign turned out just perfect!

For the kitchen, we chose to keep it simple since the kitchen can get hectic and cluttered during the holiday seasons! We chose to add this floral arrangement and super cute little wooden turkey to mom’s table to add just a pop of fall!!

I’ve saved the best for last! The front porch!

This little endeavor took several trips to Hobby Lobby on its own, but I love how it turned out! Mom and I are huge fans of buffalo check decor, so we figured what better element to add to our pumpkins and fake florals on the porch! The larger pumpkins were partially bought at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. We added some smaller pumpkins to fill in spots and add layers to the decor on both sides (the black and white ones are my favs!) . Both garlands are from Hobby Lobby as well! The buffalo check garland is actually two tied together, and the garland around the door is actually three separate pieces we were able to fashion together on hooks we have around the door frame. The leaves and floral items on the wreath I actually put together myself with some buffalo check ribbon. The door mat was a fun find from Michaels (can’t find it online, but here is another fun one!), and the buffalo check mat underneath is from Hobby Lobby, too!

Here is a closeup of the door mat! ALL THE FALL FEELS, am I right?

I hope this has given you some fun fall inspiration and help as you decorate or prepare for the fall season! I am already looking forward to sharing our Christmas decorations with you all so stay tuned!

XO, Natalie
