Stitch Fix Fun


Creating an account, requesting items, and more!

Hey, hey everyone! I know you have seen me talk about Stitch Fix on Instagram and the blog before (as I am a former employee) but today I want to talk to you about what it is like to be a customer. I will walk you through what it is like to create an account, schedule a Fix, and what it is like to try on items when you receive a box!

First, if you have never heard of Stitch Fix, let me introduce you to one of the best subscription box services you could ever sign up for! Stitch Fix is an amazing company focused on providing its customers with customized pieces to elevate their wardrobe. The company’s sole focus is the customer, so everything from signing up, to receiving your first Fix, and everything in between is centered around the experience a customer has. If you have been thinking about giving Stitch Fix a try, here is your sign! It is a great way to add wonderful pieces to your closet for any occasion or event, and the best part is, you do not have to step foot into a store. So if you are wanting to try something new, have a personal Stylist pick customized pieces for your closet and more, keep reading to see how to sign up and receive your first Fix!

Step 1- Creating your account

The first step to experiencing all that Stitch Fix has to offer is by creating an account. You can do this by going to the Stitch Fix website, or by downloading the app for free in the app store! You create your account by first taking the Style Quiz!

Step 2- Complete your Style Quiz

The Style Quiz asks you a series of questions ranging from how often you shop, what your style preferences are, what colors or patterns you like to avoid, your sizes, preferred price ranges, and more. You can answer as many or as little questions as you would like, but the more information you provide, the better a Stylist may be able to help you find what you are looking for! Once you have created a profile and answered the style questions, you can always go back and change your answers at any time online or on the app! So if your style ever changes, don’t sweat! Just login to your profile, make any changes you need, and you are all set!

Step 3- Making special requests

Once your profile is created and preferences are established, you have the ability to make any special requests for your Fix. For example, if you have a birthday coming up and you want a fun top to “go out”, you can ask for that specifically! Or if you prefer loungewear or athleisure, you can requests that specific style of clothing. No requests? No problem! Making requests is not required to receive a Fix, but it can help your Stylist determine what to send you. For example, this is the note I left for my Stylist for my 4th Fix!

Step 4- Scheduling your Fix

When it comes to scheduling how often you would like to receive a Fix, you have several options (see right). I, for example, schedule my Fixes on demand when I would like, or when I need, something in particular. That way if I need something for a specific trip or event, I can schedule accordingly. If you are wanting to revamp your wardrobe in a shorter amount of time, you could schedule your Fixes closer together to quickly establish the style you want, or schedule them for every few months so that you have new pieces for each season. The options are endless and very flexible!

Step 5- Receiving your Fix!

Once you have scheduled your Fix, you will receive a notification either online or in the app that your Stylist is picking out items for you, and then you will be notified again when your Fix is shipped!

Fix days for me are like Christmas! It’s a chance to open something new and exciting that has been personalized for YOU! Your items come wrapped neatly together, you receive a pre-labeled return bag and a sweet note like this (see left). These notes are so fun because the Stylist tells you what they picked for you and why. These notes also offer styling advice if you are unsure how to wear or style something, so don’t fret if you receive something new or adventurous! Your Stylist has you covered!

Now comes the fun part: trying everything on! Go on ahead, and have your own fashion show! Facetime a friend, or add your unboxing to your Youtube Channel to show off what you got! When you are done and you know what you want to keep and/or return, simply head to the app to checkout. During checkout, you can select which items you would like to keep and why. You can leave details about the style, fit, quality, etc. (again, not required, but it does help your Stylist get to know you better!). Once you have checked out, if you have to return any items, simply place them in the pre-labeled return bag, and drop them off at the nearest Post Office!

* Each Fix contains 5 items, and if you like all 5, you receive a discount on the overall total once you go to checkout! I have lucked out and have been able to do this several times!

Step 6-Share the love

Did you love your first Fix? Do you get compliments on your new wardrobe staples? Are your colleagues noticing some new colors and patterns on your Zoom calls? Well, that’s great! As a Stitch Fix customer, if you are loving your experience or know someone that is interested in trying Stitch Fix out, you can send a referral code! This code can be found online or on the app when you login, and will help you and your friend receive credit towards future Fixes and purchases. If you love your Stylist or even know someone who is a Stylist, you can also request them by name to style your future Fixes!

The Shop

Recently, Stitch Fix has also included a feature online and in the app that allows you to browse and purchase items without having to wait for your next Fix. This allows you to complete outfits, or buy items that you love in a different color or pattern. The items in your Shop are customized to your likes and preferences, so you should see styles, colors, and textures that you love or are interested in trying. This is another great way to revamp your wardrobe, or build up your closet staples for each season!


My Fixes

I wanted to share pictures of the items I have received in my past Fixes so you can have a look at some of the awesome pieces Stitch Fix has to offer. I am a big fan of neutrals, stripes, and jewel tones so you will see a theme in the pictures below. I am also a huge fan of athleisure, so most of the pieces I have received, have fit that category. Each Fix contains 5 items, and all of the items I have received in my Fixes have been clothing. I have purchased several clothing items as well as other pieces like bags and jewelry from The Shop feature on my app! Check them out below!

These are some of the items I have purchased from the Shop in the Stitch Fix app! This leopard cardigan is my favorite and I just love how fun and trendy this little backpack is!

What I love about the Shop is that, just like a Fix, you can purchase clothing, but you can also purchase shoes, accessories, and even extras like hair accessories, undergarments, and more! The options are endless so no matter what you need or are looking for, Stitch Fix has you covered!
