The Husband’s Secret

I have one word for this book: juicy. Affairs, betrayal, secrets, murder, and more- this book has it all! The interwoven stories of the three main characters will leave you on the edge of your seat with each page you turn. This book really makes you think about the people you know and the relationships you are a part of. It makes you think about the “what if”, and if it is really possible to know someone like you think you do. A normal, everyday relationship might be hiding something much darker. And in the case of The Husband’s Secret, that could not be more true.
Cecilia Fitzpatrick has it all. Three beautiful daughters, a handsome and loving husband, a wonderful home, and a successful Tupperware business. She is organized, punctual, poised, and is actively involved at her daughters’ school. Some would say she is the envy of all mothers who want to bake their cake and eat it too. She is beautiful, accomplished, and adored. Of course, we all know that some things are too good to be true. And for Mrs. Cecilia Fitzpatrick, it all begins with a letter from her husband and a deep, dark secret.
With the news of her husband and cousin cheating on her, Tess O’Leary and her son flee to her mother’s home where she sorts out feelings of confusion and betrayal. In an attempt to keep things as normal as possible, Tess starts sweet Liam at her former school, St. Angela’s, right away. Between her mother’s home, her school, and a few familiar faces, memories of the past come flooding back to Tess, including the memory of one ex-boyfriend Connor Whitby. Now a PE teacher at St. Angela’s, Connor has captured the attention and awe of every mother at the school, no matter how young or old, except one.
Rachel Crowley is a widow, and even though she is almost 70 years old, she works in the office at St. Angela’s where her children attended school. She had just been given the news that her son, daughter-in-law, and only grandson would soon be moving to New York City as if she has not gone through enough over the last 28 years. With each new day, she hoped that something would change; that she would wake up and it would be 1984 again. And that Janie would still be here if it wasn’t for him.
Three stories tied together with one secret. While they may not know how they are all connected, it won’t be long before Cecilia, Tess, and Rachel learn the truth. Even if it means taking matters into their own hands.
Whether you are looking for your next beach read or guilty pleasure, look no further. Moriarty has done an outstanding job developing characters, storylines, plot twists, and more. This book is worth the hype and I definitely recommend it if you are in the market for a new book! Happy Reading! XO- Natalie
